Ptolus is set on a world called Praemal that's slightly smaller than
Earth. 4/5ths of the planet is water, it has a cool temperature w/ the
ice in the north and south threatening to consume the rest of the
land, there's at least 2 major continents on the world. The world has
3 moons and there's no reference to any other planets or such.

The world of Praemal is a prison planet, the uber-god Praemus created
the place to chain the Galchutt, beings of ultimate evil who are above
things as pain, lust, misery, ect., they seek the apocalyptic end of
all things, not just the world of Praemal, but all worlds that exist,
that will exist, and the spaces between. So creatures, objects and
energies from other planes but can never leave.

The world itself I don't think would work well in a SJ setting, but
the city can be transplanted into any world just fine, and it's very,
well detailed and put together more like a travel guide than an actual
gaming sourcebook.
