Rebuilding the Man-O-War :) opinions on the style?

Do you all feel I should stick to the deckplans, or make the ship more
like the art rendering on front of original sheet?
I think the art version is more aesthetically pleasing, but one of the
decks would be much wider in that case.

Alternatively, what I may do, is put large "organic" "panels" on the
outside of the ship, from the front cover illustration on the SJ boxed
set it does seem to show such an arrangement. i.e. curved, shaped plates
over the hull, which I'd take from the description is sort of moulded,
or grown as crystal?
