Looking really cool! Going off the deckplans is definitely a good idea.
That's what I did for the Flynn. My take on armament is to deliver a massive
broadside attack, but from what I understand in Stormwrack, the designers
went for fewer weapons aboard ship to encourage boarding actions that
emphasized the characters rather than the ships. So in some ways, not having
much space for weaponry isn't necessarily a bad thing. I like the idea of
sliding windows in the eyes, I totally forgot about the retractable dome
thing on the Man-O-War.

Subject: [SPELLJAMMER] Rebuilding the Man-O-War :)

Michael's work got me going ;) So I'm re-building the Man-O-War in 3d.
This time I'm building it off the DECKPLANS, so, folk can either have the
design based on deckplans or external artwork, not both, as they are
definitely not the same! So currently going by the deckplans, less you all
want the artwork on the card for design? The original artwork shows a far
flatter forward section than the deckplans, at least 6' wider on each side
of forward section I'd guess.

-Building it from the deckplans with a 1' thick hull, you get the
following:

The deckplan shows I'm working off almost exact duplicates of original
deckplans ;) Still have to mess with the top catapult position as it makes
no sense as shown in originals *scratches head*. I think the "flight deck"
should have battlements? It does look like an actual castle tower but...??

The rear section will have a large area above and below the rooms that flank
the gangway, these were simply noted as "hold" in original deckplans, again
that makes no sense as they are very large, and should have ladder access. I
think there should be several weapon positions, or windows there, allowing
for elven aesthetics (enjoying space) or for having weapon ports. I was
thinking 2 or 3 on each side? Problem is, for a wwarship, the standard
Man-OWar has far too little space FOR weapons to fire from.

The idea of "retractable dome/eyes" doesn't make sense either, unless a
middle part of eyes literally slides, like a patio door?? So currently, have
a square centre section that can open like two doors, to allow weapons to
fire out.

Anything else folk's can think of? :)

I'd rather be a Fool who believes in Dragons, Than a King who believes in
Nothing.
