Nice stuff!  

I've been (seriously) considering making a Hackjammer
PBEM, pre-invasion game, myself.  Been putting
together some ideas, but here's a sample of what I've
got so far:

* Races: enforcers, vodoni human, medusa, human
(thrall races), zalani, kofu elves, & maybe grav.  The
enforcers will probably be modeled after Lupins; the
zalani after tinker gnomes (without the silliness).  

* Classes: No clerics, druids, paladins, & rangers. 
Assassins, berserkers, barbarians, thieves,
battlemages, & dark knights prevail.:)

* The Emperor: In the empire itself, he's built and
enormous cult of personality around himself.  His
propaganda campaign has cast himself as a savior of
his poeple and caretaker of the gods.  

* The Empire: Steal lots of ideas from the Imperium of
Man from Warhammer 40k.  The "core" of the empire is
basically 5 spheres; the other 7 are frontiers where
the imperial grip is weak.  Overall, things aren't
good.  Rebellion, pirates, outlaws, heratics, and
fiends all gnaw at the Empire.  Celestials and fiends
alike seek to bring the Empire down,  Nobles work
towards their own power, to the detriment of the
Empire.  An Inquisition is in full force, rooting out
heratics & traitors alike.
