Let me just further elaborate on something: If indeed you want to move your game 200 years into the "future", I'd almost make Bral a whole lot bigger. * You established that in your game, Bral owns some nearby asteroids, no more than 10,000 miles distant. * I suggested moving the portal from the College (which is really a bad place for trade) to a nearby asteroid. So, taking that, you could say that Bral has "spread out" over the last 200 years and now emcompasses say a dozen asteroids. Afterall, Bral, as it stands now, has almost no place to grow; it can't take in too many more people. But if it allowed to expand...:) Thus, "New" Bral could look like this: * Old Bral - the oldest part of the city. Pretty much untouched from the original. * Celestian's Planar Port - where the portal is located, lots of warehouses, markets, fortifications, docks, barracks, etc. * The Slums - 1-3 asteroids covered by cheap rowhouses, inhabited by descenants of refugees from that Black Moths event. Maybe planar refugees as well. * Black Rock - where forges, tanneries, & other "undesirable" industries are found. * Guild Quarter - better homes, where artisans & craftsmen dwell. * The Forest - "Central Park" of Bral, a whole asteroid of nothing but trees. A big park, serves double-duty as atmosphere cleaner. * The Greenhouses - farming asteroids run by the "Green Alliance" (fertility/cultivation deities such as Demeter) that produce much of the food needed by the city. Due to the cleric/druid efforts, the production here is way higher than it should be. * Ferries - 50-ton tradesmen, gutted so they can carry as many people as possible, make routine trips from one asteroid to the other, carrying up to 500 people at one time. The "subway" or "busing" system of Bral. Anyways, just a couple of ideas. :) Adam ____________________________________________________________________________________ Get your own web address.
