Hehe, npb mate, Bill Gates is da debil!! http://www.silverblades-suitcase.com/artofadreamer/3d/badbill.jpg ;) As said, if the end of the ballista is outside the turret, and the mechanism is inside, ti works. The picot point is like 1/3d back from the head, so it would sit just inside the turret, thus leaving room for crew inside. I need ot make a stone-firing ballsita model, a heavier one, as the two I've created are really "light" and "Medium" ballistas. Plus I should make a repeating-ballista, which really existed! ----------------------------------------------------------- I'd rather be a Fool who believes in Dragons, Than a King who believes in Nothing. ----------------------------------------------------------- www.silverblades-suitcase.com -----Original Message----- From: Spelljammer Setting Discussion [mailto:SPELLJAMMER-L@??????.???????.com] On Behalf Of David Shepheard Sent: 15 March 2007 23:28 To: SPELLJAMMER-L@??????.???????.com Subject: Re: [SPELLJAMMER] More Wasp work, turret design CORRECTION ----- Original Message ----- From: "David Shepheard" <david_shepheard@???????.com> Sent: Thursday, March 15, 2007 2:32 AM Subject: Re: [SPELLJAMMER] More Wasp work, turret design > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Steven" <steven.james.1@??????????.??.uk> > Sent: Thursday, February 22, 2007 6:01 PM > Subject: [SPELLJAMMER] More Wasp work, turret design <snip> >>roof for defence, poles for folk to push/rotate the turret. > > You roof cut out is degrees, but I'm not sure that would be enough > clearance for the width of a heavy ballista. That should say: "Your roof cut out is 60 degrees, but I'm not sure that would be enough clearance for the width of a heavy balista. The balista in the illustration on page 21 of LotV seems to have a balista wider than the turret." That will teach me to: a) check that "number lock" is on before I type numbers into my numeric keypad and b) not rely on Bill Gates to spellcheck my emails. > What width is that turret of yours? If it a lot wider than a heavy balista > then you may be bloating your ship to a bigger width than it needs to be > and if they are about the same size, then the turret could interfer with > the operation of the balista. No corrections to this, but I left it in for context.
