Lol good point ;) Especially in the Phlogiston where the Planar contacts get screwy, eh? I think that the Astral Plane reaches all D&D worlds (usually anyway) and thus contact cnabe established, BUT... Some places are...screwy..at the DMs option, Ravenloft-like, or magic is weak, planar connectiona weak, chance of a failure etc. ----------------------------------------------------------- I'd rather be a Fool who believes in Dragons, Than a King who believes in Nothing. ----------------------------------------------------------- www.silverblades-suitcase.com -----Original Message----- From: Spelljammer Setting Discussion [mailto:SPELLJAMMER-L@??????.???????.com] On Behalf Of Adam Miller Sent: 09 March 2007 12:40 To: SPELLJAMMER-L@??????.???????.com Subject: [SPELLJAMMER] Resurrection/raise dead/souls in SJ Something just clicked when reading over parts of the FRCS. In it, it discussed how a dead character without a patron deity has a hard time being raised. Basically, without one, you only get 1d10 days to be raised, or your soul gets collected and only a wish brings you back after that. So, lets toss this in the mix: what happens to your soul if you die in a sphere where your god is *not* worshipped, and (if you use this setup) the plane of your god isn't accessable? Say a guy from Greatspace who worships Zeus goes to Grommspace, where Zeus isn't worshipped at all, and dies. Does Kong get his soul? Does anyone? Or does his soul wander the sphere as a ghost &/or some other type of undead? Do fiends prowl the etherals of various spheres looking to round up such lost souls? Or howabout a "Pirates of the Caribbean"-style "Davy Jones"? Something to think about/discuss. Heck, done right, that could set up a rather interesting, horror-type game with shades of 40k involved :D Adam ____________________________________________________________________________ ________ Bored stiff?
