Your description of the ship as a bowl sitting on the gravity plane is 
pretty much what I had in mind, interesting idea on the tactics. 
Although not all tyrant ships will follow this pattern.

Further questions - when I get these done, what format would people 
prefer them in, and where would be a god place to put them?
