Steel vs. Gold in Krynnspace? This was my personal fix: The Palanthus portmaster handles a money exchange system. I had economic rules set in which the import of large supplies of steel and large exports of gold were contraband, or at least HIGHLY taxed. I had one group of PCs work for the port authority as corsairs. One of their prime resons for stopping and boarding outgoing ships was to search them for large supplies of steel and or gold. Punsihment was confiscation of the entire cargo, which was used to fund port activities. I had an NPC who worked as a go-between between the corsairs and the rulers of the city. Seems to me that I read that landing a SJ anywhere on Ansalon except the Palanthus port was forbidden. I ran a few adventures where the PC corsairs had to track down smugglers of gold and steel, and ships that wanted to land elsewhere. Here's how it went: In my campaign, a young lady by the name of Stacia Lionsmane (Yes, his Granddaughter) is the Captain of "The Liberty", a White Squidship in the service of Palanthus, and the Star Knights. She is a Knight of Solamnia and her ship was "aquired" in one of her exploits. She is the leader of what fleet Palanthus has managed to come up with, and one of her duties is to diligently search vessels for steel and gold that has not gone through the Palanthus Port Customs. I've got a whole crew and stats and what not. Easy fix in my campaign.....what do you guys think? -Blackmaer
