Well that's part of the goal, to create a nice place
for adventurers to kick some arse :)

Probably had a dozen names by a dozen different
powers.  Basically, I sorta envision it as one of
countless "barren" worlds that had no real inhabitants
until the current residents settled and set up shop. 

As far as enemies of the Dragonhope, lots.  They're
trying to conquer the entire Known Spheres, afterall!
:D

All of the scenarios you listed are viable, indeed an
adventuring party can do them all! :D
