Does the undead need to make a saving throw every day or part of
day that it is in the Helm or be destroyed?

This is the thing that prevents people just using normal healing
to indirectly power a Lifejammer Helm.  The unpredicatable risk
of death stops you just putting tough people in it for a while,
knowing that you can heal them.

Access to spells that can heal the undead would make the use of a
Death Eater Helm a similarly predictable tool.

Does anything hold a non-corporeal undead in the Helm and prevent
them from escaping?  What about a vampire that can take gaseous
form, or maybe shapechange into something smaller?

I would assume that a vampire's regeneration wont work while in
the Helm, and once they hit zero hit points they are permanently
destroyed.  If you put a liche in one are they permanently
destroyed, even if you haven't found their phylactery?

Given a source of reasonably intact bodies and an Animate Dead
spell, is there anything to stop you keeping feeding zombies to
the Helm, if you don't care about only getting SR 1 out of it?
