I certainly am aware of Moorcock's influence, you can see my review of his Corum saga in _Knights of the Dinner Table_ #118 (the current issue). Ultimately, however, I think that Tolkien is much more influential, and more importantly, longer lasting. simply put, IMo, Tolkien is literature, Moorcock tries hard, but he's just not. Many folks prefer Moorcock, but he, some people prefer macaroni and cheese to Filet Mignon. That's just taste. Tolkien's literary worth is really indisputable.
