Mh. I also don't quite see the point.

It's too dark? Light a lamp.
It's too bright? Close the shutters.

A lot of people sleep during the day or are awake at night. It's just a 
matter of getting used to it. I imagine it would not be an issue after a 
few years of colonization - a generation at most.
