Ah good I@ll need to see about gettign ti then as I honeslty *love the expert NPC class, it fits in well with so many NPCs. What is a "military officer", a high level fighter? Usually not, that's the sergeants, mnay officers will be aristrocrat/fighters or experts or a mix, aristocrat/expert or even expert/aristocrat/fighter. Why? Well in an army at least the more professional it is, officers are usually not combat specialists, they are mostly bothered with strategy, the tactics of dealing with units of soldiers and logistics. Sargeants deal with squad tactics and the actual fighting. Hence, to an officer, Expert class is ideal. Diplomacy, Sense Motive, Bluff, cartography, History, local Knowledge, languages, Military Strategy etc are skills they'd want. In SJ, most captains of merchant ships would be lvl 4 to 10 experts with maybe another class. BAB isn't much use compared to Bluff, Appraise etc as a merchant ;) ----------------------------------------------------------- I'd rather be a Fool who believes in Dragons, Than a King who believes in Nothing. ----------------------------------------------------------- www.silverblades-suitcase.com -----Original Message----- From: Spelljammer Setting Discussion [mailto:SPELLJAMMER-L@??????.???????.com] On Behalf Of Dreamer Sent: 14 July 2006 11:33 To: SPELLJAMMER-L@??????.???????.com Subject: Re: [SPELLJAMMER] Neogi and Umber Hulks - air breathing? I'm guessing this is reference to 'Skirmish Publishing', but I had to search back quite a way through the mailing list posts to work this out... If you don't quote enough of the message you are referring to, I'm afraid that it can be difficult to figure out what you mean - people are likely using many different ways of reading this mailing list, and the messages can be displayed in lots of different orders - they may have even deleted the one you are answering! Notwithstanding that, these look like interesting books to look out for.
