"Depend on"? Probably not. Still, it seems a shame not to use the site's official status to your advantage and to take advantage of preexisting material. Maybe side-bar it? The other problem is the usual one with prestige classes - what > does the character do until they are actually good enough to > qualify for the class? That would depend on how you choose to add setting to the prestige class. I've found that most prestige classes are a mechanical set of abilities but they still need to get merged into the setting. If it is an organizational based prestige class, well the character will spend that time actually joining the organization. Being part of the organization just opens them up to special training when the time comes. > -- The idea of Adeptus Mil is that the Roma army disrupts its > existing structure as little as possible while providing support > against enemy spellcasters. Remember, it is entirely possible for someone to be a 20th level commoner. -- There is no room for clerics who will try and push their own > agendas (i.e. those of their religions) rather than the interests > of the army. What greater way to serve the emporer as a priest than to serve in his army? -- The army is probably made from 3rd-5th level soldiers > (veterans), less than 7th, and with no clerics; what would the > potential Warpriests do until they reached say 7th level Cleric? I think you can chop a level off of the waiting time by taking a couple levels of fighter in there. Cleric 2/Fighter 4 gets you your requirements by Level 6.. so you could take War Priest as your 7th level. I'd be taking Leadership as my 6th level feat, learning weapon specialization in my Deity's favored weapon. Cool stuff like that. > It would be nice to use an existing class or maybe prestige > class, but it looks as though I'd have to do the (hopefully > minimal) work. > > Thanks for looking! > > -- > Dreamer > dreamer@??????.?????.??.uk > http://www.romsys.demon.co.uk/ > > ******************************************************************** > The D&D Homepage: http://www.wizards.com/dnd > The Spelljammer Homepage: http://www.spelljammer.org > To unsubscribe, send email to LISTSERV@??????.???????.com > with UNSUB SPELLJAMMER-L in the body of the message. >
