Another week, another page of town info. Enjoy! :)

Background: The reason for the Star of Sehanine’s
construction is a mystery as is the cause of its ruin.
Its purpose is lost in the archives of Lionheart. It
was a ruin long before the Unhuman Wars began, that
much is certain. At that time, the ruins were claimed
by an unknown arch-wizard. It was this arch-wizard
who crafted the Star Roads to link the asteroids
together, for what purpose no one knows. Most likely
he was using the asteroids to test new spells before
moving on. He occupied the ruins for little over a
year, and did little to restore them. A few tattered
notes, found decades later, are the only evidence of
his presence.

The ruins were discovered in the closing days of the
Unhuman Wars by Marcus Wyldkarde, a half-elven veteran
of numerous conflicts. Having seen too much bloodshed
in those wars, he decided to settle down and raise a
family. The stellar islands around the ruins were
perfect for farming, as Marcus discovered. He quietly
spread word to his fellow war buddies, many who were
looking for a place to settle as well. In the span of
a generation, the islands were dotted with thriving
farms.

The ruins made a natural hub for traffic and trade.
The Starwing Inn was the first permanent building on
the site, built by Josphin Tarch, a lousy farmer by a
man with a good eye for opportunity. At first the
Starwing was little more than a one-story building
with a dozen rooms and a stable. The money was good,
and the site attracted other businesses. Needing a
mill to grind their grain, the central tower was
turned into such by Wanteen Sureswift. The budding
village of Starfall was born.

Very quickly, space became an issue. Josphin, Marcus,
Wanteen and a few other veterans delved into the lower
sections of the base, clearing them of traps,
monsters, and leftover, dangerous magic. The Starwing
was moved into one of the spokes, freeing up space
topside for the village to grow. Marcus was elected
the first mayor, and proudly served in that post for
four terms before retiring to his farmstead to live
out the rest of his days.

The next few centuries passed without much notice to
the good folk of Starfall. Newcomers built their own
businesses or cleared land for new farms. Starfall
always remained the crossroads for the islands, its
prosperity growing with that of its neighboring farms.
Ships from nearby wildspace cities and towns began
arriving, looking for new sources of grain to feed
their burgeoning populations. Surplus grain flowed
through Starfall’s docks, bound for ports around the
sphere.

The last decade has been one of change in Starfall.
Small goblin-kin have been seen on the more remote
islands, perhaps marooned after losing a battle
against elven ships. Unusually large and aggressive
rodents and vermin have become a problem, destroying
crops and ruining grain shipments. An eelship flying
the banner of the skull and crossbones has been
spotted lurking amongst the islands. Bandits have
made life difficult in some areas, extracting tolls
for use of roads that before were free for all to use.
