Bio-Helm Bio-Helm is a variation on a major helm. It appears as a green brown tree stump with a ornate helm carved in the wood. If the helm is bolted on a regular spelljamming craft it would function as a major helm in all respect. If the helm is placed in a living ship (elven man-o-war for example), the helm would take roots on the spelljamming craft's deck after three days. It would take a dispel and severing each root that connects the helm to the ship to be able to remove the helm from the ship. All metal fittings would loosen and fall off from it's connection from the ship after a week that the helm is installed. Doors would be replaced with iris type door (see stargate SG1) made of the same material as the ship. Touching the door will allow the ship to open the door, if the person is allowed in the area. All windows would be replaced by opaqued skin that allows light to shine through the opening. If damaged the ship will regenerate 1 hull point every 24 hours. If magic is used to repair (cure) the ship, then recovery would be hasten. The ship will gain +1 to MR because of the ship would move as a living creature. The ship would gain another +1 SR after helm is fused to the ship when around fire bodies (crystal sphere's inner rings). A limited intelligence would be gained by the ship, but only for survival instinct only. The ship would attempt to flee an area if it losses more than half it's hull points if the helmsman was disabled. The helmsman would lose control in this situation for 1d4 hours. The ship would need 'watering' every month to replenish it's stored fluids. Landing in a freshwater lake or flying in a rainfall would allow it to take the necessary water. Constant exposure to the sun would also make the ship function better. The ship would lose 1 SR if in a crystal sphere without a fire body. After a battle, the crew might notice that all traces of blood would disappear from any part of the ship, along with some missing enemy dead bodies. "Rumors of crew members being digested by the ship is completely false. All the doors in the ship function properly and opened when touched." - Elven Captain of the Man-O-War Sword of Freedom __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
