Yes, I'd say so.

My guess is that this spell affects the specific magical
relationship between the helmsman and the helm, based on the way
its casting is restricted. Lifejammers etc work in a different
way. So, I'd say you can't use this spell.

There might be some sort of Necromantic spell which would work
similarly for them.


Personally, I don't really consider the spells that mess with SR
or MC to be 'core'; you can SJ without them. You really need the
Portal and Helm spells, and Chill Fire means that you can use
that great human tool, fire, in the Flow - hot food! But, you
don't _really_ need that, either.

However, they are all in CoAS, so really are 'core' in that
sense, so it is easier to just convert them without arguing about
it! [grin]
