Ak! That is going to be one unpopular Helm to operate!

On balance, I think that I wouldn't allow it, as you can bet that
someone of going to try and use it as a Lifejammer. Even
Lifejammers only kill you (which need not be fatal [grin] ), they
don't drain you as well!

Mentally control some high HD monster, and let _them_ burn XP to
run the helm for you?

I'm not sure if you imply that this can take away levels, in
general XP loss to using magic doesn't allow this, I thought.
Does this Helm stop when you would lose a level to it?

You might want to note that level/HD is equivalent to spellcaster
level for the purpose of SR.

Im not sure what the bit about memory loss means.


Interesting idea, but I don't think it is likely to be used.
