I agree there are all sorts of interesting ideas for alternate
Helms for 3rdEd, maybe including those that don't drain magic
from the helmsman.

But, I think we should just convert all the 2ndEd SJ stuff "as
is", with minimum changes to fit in with 3rdEd, and maybe then
list alternatives.

No?

DMs can then go their own way, changing what they like, but I
think it advisable to have a straight conversion of the 2ndEd
stuff as a common starting point.

ok .. a straight conversion from 2ndEd to AD&D3E should be easy and the
Arcane/Mercane can still make them as usually and have the monopoly on those
helms that drain the magic of the user..


of course there will always be alternatives like what I listed before on
this thread.  great responses btw :-}

the alternatives can be from non-arcane/mercane and could be "rare" to find
.. who knows ..
