Yes, that is what I would use. Each hull point gives 5 hit points for the purpose of working out level, and each 5HP gives one hit dice. So, a ship saves as a fighter of level equal to its hull points. (This is because I consider only half the hit points to be positive ones, as the ship starts losing function once it is half damaged, and living creatures normally only do this below zero hit points.) > Or, since they have been grown/built/enchanted/modified or whatever by the > elves, would they get the elven resistance to these spells? Unless you think the trees are part elf ... I don't see why they would. Elves come from LotR and from ideas about woodland spirits, which is where I _think_ they are supposed to get some of their unworldly resistance to magic from. I would say that they are just as vulnerable to spells that control plants as any other plant is. But, just because you have Charmed them, that does not mean you have any control of the Helm, just control of their movement that they are capable of as plants. > If so, then in theory, a living ship that was created by a Drow Elf would > have the standard Drow Elven magic resistance, right? No, not unless you are mixing drow into the plant! Anyhow, I think drow using space-going fungii, rather like the Thermo Fungi that I gave a spec of a while ago, seems more in character! Now, that _is_ interesting! [grin] -- Dreamer dreamer@??????.?????.??.uk http://www.romsys.demon.co.uk/
