Hmm, that would sure make the spread of kindori, scavvers, etc. 
throughout the spheres a lot more plausible wouldn't it? I always 
wondered how creatures like that lived long enough to actually make the 
incredibly long journeys needed to be found in multiple spheres...

Excellent idea! I had envisioned elves harvesting sap from a rare type 
of tree somewhere (which was really just my way of making it so that 
they weren't using smokepowder or oil as a propellant, because neither 
of those sounded very elven to me), but this makes much more sense!
