Heh, I've actually started on a conversion myself. My thoughts are
similiar, but my version is a standard race with no level adjustment.
Basically, my "vision" is of lizardmen who, because of the egg ships
orbiting suns bit, have become very advanced. In effect, in appearance they
look somewhat like the Gith, just a little more lizard-like (they would have
tails, for example). They're more human-like and less vaguely human
lizards. I'm thinking something like this:
Abilities
+2 to Swim bonus
+2 to diplomacy bonus
+2 to climb (claws)
+2 to Constution
-2 to Wisdom
Favored Class: Fighter (Swashbuckler) or Sorcerer (though I like the idea of
"Any" :)
Hold breath (can hibernate for up to 10 minutes per point of con(?)).
Dark vision
30' move
A couple of other abilities, but haven't nailed them down yet.
