Heh, there's probably a lot of races through the years that could apply.
"Wolf/dog" people is a pretty common theme. Off the top of my head:
Cynamolgus (assuming those are the forest wolf-guys I'm thinking of),
dog-people from Mystara (lupans?), the dog-guys from Traveller, wolf-guys
from Palladium's world, and even the vodoni. Probably will draw from all of
the above when I do the actual writeup :)
