If someone cared to work it out, though, it would be nice if there was some suggested equivalent arcane spell level. As, at least in some campaigns the Arcane don't exist, and Helms created either by temporary spell casting, or by enchantment, which requires you to know a spell level equivalent, are what you commonly find. > Greater: > Greater Scavver Saddles function exactly as lesser Scavver Saddles, > but are fully as powerful as a normal lifejammer helm. [snip] OK, you've got your scavver, saddle, and Necklace of Adaptation. Reading the Lifejammer spec you need to check on at least a daily basis to see if your scavver has died on you. While few people likely care much about scavver rights, this tends to discourage long flights. Presumably, you unsaddle your scavver after use, which is when it makes its save vs. death, to not die, and if doesn't die and is reasonably fed will be healthy again after a few days of R&R, likely no more than a week, per a day's flight. Something to improve the chance of the scavver surviving might be useful; would a Protection vs. Shock healing-type spell do the trick? Or, if a healing spell was co-ordinated with the removing of the saddle, might that give at least a saving throw boost? (I would expect a Heal spell to remove the need to save.) Cure Light Wounds +3 save? Cure Serious Wounds +6 save? Maybe you could breed tougher scavvers? Maybe there is some sort of specialist life restoring spell that would only work on someone or something just killed by a Lifejammer. Level 4? Some people might look on this as a way to convert healing skill into spelljamming capability! [grin] Thoughts? -- Dreamer dreamer@??????.?????.??.uk http://www.romsys.demon.co.uk/
