You need to read some of his other editorials.  I recall on ein the
early days of 3e where he talks about the 3e stuff coming out and
bemoans how all these people are putting out monster manuals and other
bland, basic to the game fair.  All he wants to see is something new
and different and ... whatever.  He also foisted the ignorant ethereal
invasion on Living Greyhawk and has generally made a poor impression on
me every time I see him write an editorial or make a decision regarding
anything.  I can get over him not liking SJ (it definitely always had
very narrow appeal) but even how he treats GH (which he supposedly
loves) and fantasy gaming/gamers in general screams the man should be
fired, not given yet another magazine to edit (he's now editor of both
Dragon and Dungeon and I've dropped my subscriptions to both as they
have become completely useless).
