SpellJammer was the greatest setting IMHO for 2nd Ed and the travesty a certain anti-furry moron perpetrated for a mere mini-game as well as his continued anti-furry crusade in Dragon really has me seeing red. Wonky mechanics indeed, what he meant was wonky mechanics he had no hand in creating in the first place has no place in anything he helms. If I thought it would do any good I'd find a way to make an on-line petition to have him removed as editor for now and all time. But I'm a gamer that happens to be a furry. This despite the fact that they redid the neogi and in Lords of Madness gave them back their spider ships. *sigh* One of my most favorite memories of playing 2nd Edition was in a SpellJammer campaign playing a lupin ranger with the Swashbuckler kit and a chosen species enemy of mind flayers. And I was not the sole anthro character as we had a black man whose was playing a lizard folk fighter (sorry I like the new names a little better for some things) who adopted the vocal mannerisms of Jar Jar Binks for his character. Ah well, Bastion Press's Airships provides a great set of rules for making flying ships and with a few tweaks hear and then...voila! SpellJammer is back better than ever! But this is all home brew stuff so in the minds of some people it doesn't count.
