Very true.. a Druid could probably make a very nice living this way.. plus
the ability to use a helm.

Infinity Vine goes dormant in the Phlogiston.. its not dead but it gets
crusty and dry and stops regenerating. The normal plant gets into an air
envalope, wraps itself around the ship and bogs it down.. the typical way to
clean a ship of the mess to to head to the phlogiston and scrape it off. Of
course if you have a hereditary change in place.. fleats would generally be
made by taking some core material for the plant to wrap around (probably a
50' pole or something) head out into the phlogiston, break off a peice of
the ship and then take your air envalope back into the sphere.. plant grows
rapidly.. boom.. instant ship.

I kind of like the idea of those mental commands warping over time though so
that each new ship like that has a chance of going back to standard annoying
infinity vine or mutating into a new configuration.

Given the psionic origins of the ship, I would lean towards Pirates of Gith
being the main users since the organic nature of them would allow the Gith
to bounce those ships in and out of the Astral.
