Dragon Rock map outline

this is my first shot of the asteroids outline:

remarks:

- i places the "blunt end" to the left, that´s where "government hill" will
be located.

- we need an axis around which the rock rotates for having day and night.
standing on the rock, one could possibly see selune, toril AND the sun
(though not necessarily all three at the same time) - potential for an
interesting day-and-night-circle!

- 3-dimensionality: i´d go for a more or less "flat" body, perhaps not more
than 1 mile from center to center. we could add several small mountain
ranges somewhat away from the edges.

- surface features:
going from thatotherguy´s writeup, there´s a large see in the center of the
asteroid. as david said, we´ll need several more lakes on the surface as
landing facilities. their placement goes together with the "port-villages"
and will be done later.

the same holds true for streets. i think before placing the "civilization"
(villages, roads, artificial lakes, docks...), we should come up with
natural gegraphic characteristics like (small!) mountains, hills, craters
(1) and so on.

(1) how about placing the city of cauldron (see recent dungeon magazines)
in a circular dry crater? ...perhaps not the city itself (as other dm´s
might used caouldron in their campaign, and then there´s still something
like "copyright"), but a settlement with a similar outline...


i´ve other time-consuming tasks that keep me from writing more atm,
otherwise i´d come up with more than that meager "wannabe-map"... i didn´t
draw up the other side of the asteroid because i´d like to see your
comments first.

i´ll comment on the other postings later, many interesting ideas there! :o)
