Subject: Re: Has any body made to scale deckplans of Spelljammer ships?
I have got plans of the Spelljammer ships (and if I had any missing I know that there are
copies on BtM) but I'm looking for something slightly different:

What I'd like to see is deckplans that are scaled up to a scale of 1 inch per five foot
square (for use with miniatures). Each ship would need several printouts to cover all the
decks. I realise that this could only be done with the smallest ships because a hammership
will be over 40 inches long and 12 inches wide if done to this scale. Obviously as most
people only own A4 printers, each ship would have to be cut up into sections and stuck
together after it was printed.

If nobody has done this yet, and someone artistic thinks it is actually worth doing, here
is my wishlist of features:

1) Existing (small) ships to be converted to 1inch=5ft format,
2) Outline of the ship (and walls) to be put on a different layer to the size squares*,
3) A third layer added with a photograpic effect of the material of the ship (this would
mostly be wooden planks or sails)**,
4) The image cut into sections in order to allow it to be printed on A4 printers (a second
A5 version would be good)***,
5) A separate set of tiles for ships weapons, helms and other typical ship items.

* = My reasoning for this is that some people might want to have a miniature scale version
of a hammership with no sizing squares on it.
** = If this is done as a separate layer it can be removed to provide a black and white
version for people that don't have a colour printer. A black and white version would also
be useful for anyone who wants to customise a ship (for example a Hammership made from
metal and fire for use with Azer).
*** = These images would need a small amount of overlap and assembly instructions.

I personally think that something like this would be really cool. A DM could stick them
onto a large sheet of paper (they could even have it laminated). The final plans could be
stored rolled up in a tube in between gaming sessions.

Is this worth doing or is it too much hard work to do? Has anybody already done this and
if not is there anybody here that *can* do it?
