I'm not sure if this appears somewhere in > the Greyhawk setting. The original Blackmoor campaign may or may not have been set in a part of the Greyhawk setting (in fact it most likely *was* a part of Greyhawk since the mutated frogs sound suspiciously like something related to Wastri the Hopping Prophet, and since IIRC I've read an account by EGG of one of the original D&D games involving a couple of the original Greyhawk characters exploring a city in the north that sounds a lot like the City of the Gods), but when it was revised it was placed in the distant past of Mystara (the planet of the D&D Known World, Hollow World, and Red Steel settings). For more details check out the D&D modules DA1-Adventures in Blackmoor, DA2-Temple of the Frog, DA3-City of the Gods, and DA4-The Duchy of Ten. > Locally, a number of different groups of adventurers assaulted > Barrier Peaks/S3, as run by different DMs, and trying to make > sense of some of the gadgets from there was one of the things > driving the Technologist character class spec. That's not so much because of the introduction of technology (I had no problem with the introduction of tech in the DA1-4 modules), but because IMO S3 is the most poorly written of the original AD&D modules. I could see how a good DM could be inspired by it and use the material as a base to expand on, but as written I just don't think it's very good. > I don't know if what I've in mind will do, but I would hope there > might be some interest in it. Depending on how it turns out, it may or may not be something that I would consider using in a game of my own, but regardless I'd be interested to see it at least. -Ben
