Below decks...

"Help Kain!" says Freneth, as he jerks with all his strength on the
rope attached to his javelin. The warrior it is attached to
screeches in agony and falls onto the deck.

Grigree throws his javelin down the hallway at the wounded native,
skewering his shoulder even as Freneth yanks him from his feet.

Nilaroo smoothly converts the extraction of his blade from the first
warrior into a mighty two-handed slash at the warrior Freneth downed.
He slashes twice, severing the torso of the native in two.

The hadozee moves towards Nilaroo and Freneth. "Hey, there," he
says, "what's the plan? And, sorry but I had to break down the cargo
door."

"Hoom, abalu, it is good to see you alive!" Nilaroo grunts as he
slays. "The plan? Kill our enemies, save our friends, same as
always. And, hoom, you *will* be fixing that door once we are done
here."

Inside the helmroom, Allagan gasps, "Die!" at Masawa but the warrior
just grins in glee in response.

The grin disappears as Talus suddenly appears hovering behind Masawa,
plunging his palely glowing dagger into the warrior's back.

Masawa growls in pain and spins around to face Talus.

Kain thrusts his short sword towards the native's midriff. He still
appears to far from his opponent for his blow to be effective, and
this time his blade misses the mark.

Both witch doctors stab at him with their spears and miss.

Topside...

Holland flies over to the rail, and says "Ives, please grab the end
of this rope. Leera, Raken, please secure some more ropes and stand
ready."

Holland runs his hand down the rope as he flies to the raft. Tying
the rope off on the raft Holland says, "Ives, pull the raft back
over. We need to get our equipment aboard."

Ives booms out "Of course Holland. Forgot to ask to have a rope sent
over what!" With that the Giff grabs the rope and feeds the slack to
Holland. As soon as its secured Ives starts hauling in the rope.

Raken continues working the lines.

In position at the sails, Sekeht waits for a command from the sailmaster.

Below decks...

Masawa slashes with his great war club at Talus. Talus darts around
in the air trying to avoid Masawa's attacks, but both blows connect
with solid thuds. Talus is hurled through the air and slams into the
rear of the helmroom, where he sinks unconscious to the floor.

Allagan attacks with his spear, keeping pressure off his bad
shoulder, but still managing to cut Masawa in the back..

Kain continues to press his attack on the witch doctor, swing his
sword as he steps closer to his opponent. His swing connects,
leaving a small cut on his foe.

Dropping the rope Freneth draws his axe, and then moves cautiously
toward the opening into the room.

Grigree throws a discarded native javelin at Masawa, but the
ricochets off his skin as if it had struck iron.

Nilaroo moves into the helm room and beheads the unwounded
witchdoctor fighting Kain, leaving only Kain's original foe and
Masawa still fighting the party.

Topside...

As the raft gets closer to the ship Holland says, "Leera, Raken,
throw me the end of your rope." Holland grabs the ends of the ropes
and ties them to the figurehead and the large bags.

Securing his end of the rope to the Nightwin, Ives grasps the other
ropes and starts hauling the equipment aboard.

Raken continues working the lines.

Sekeht continues to wait for a command from the sailmaster. He keeps
an eye on the shoreline watching for potential boarders.

Suddenly, a massive dinosaur head shoots out of the water and bites
Holland about the torso!

Holland shouts, "Raken!" and then quickly chants a spell.

At Holland's cry for help, Raken responds in a low chant, and then
confronts the beast. "YIELD! DROP HIM!" he says in a very
commanding voice, as he would talk to a dog in training. He points
to the deck, where he wants the dinosaur to put Holland down.

The dinosaur completely ignores Raken.

As his spell is cast, Holland disappears from view for a second as,
like a porcupine, a flurry of small snowballs erupts from Holland's
body shooting outward and plastering the dinosaur about its head and
neck.

Despite obvious damage from the snowball flurry, the beast bites
harder about Holland's torso, causing blood to spurt.

Ives drops the lines and unsheathes his sword in one economical
motion. Backing up three paces the Giff then charges forward and
leaps at the dinosaur with sword unsheathed. He lands heavily upon
the long neck, causing it to sink into the water with a splash
beneath his massive weight.

Ferric shoots the creature attacking Holland, sending two arrows in
quick succession into its body.

Sekeht extends his arm toward the dinosaur's head.

Meanwhile, below decks...

Taking advantage of Masawa's distraction Allagan chants a quick spell.

Freneth stays crouched and hidden.

Nilaroo continues on his native removal plan, he makes two great
swings at Masawa and both connect solidly...

And both blows bounce of of his skin as if they had struck hardened steel.

Masawa grins and attacks the gromman, "The Spirits favor me, Great
Ape. I have slain your kind again, your hands may join their's in my
lodge!"

He slashes twice with his great toothed war club, leaving massive
bruises beneath the chainmail on Nilaroo's torso.

Kain's outline appears slightly fuzzy for a moment bet he immediately
reappears as solid as ever, and again swings his short sword at the
witch doctor. he again connects, wounding the witch doctor in the
arm. The doctor staggers back towards the helm, in pain and fear as
he stabs ineffectually with his spear.

The Captain's Cabin door opens and Vais sticks his head out. He looks
at the bodies on the floor and then down the hall to the battle
raging in the helm room. Seeing Grigree still in the hall he says,
"Has the rescue arrived, then? I heard shouting."

Grigree looks up, startled for a moment. "Yes, bal yo. They are
here. Be ready. I don't know the plan, but we may need you." He
grabs a handful of javelins and joins the fray the helm room.

Above decks...

Ives' massive leap causes the dinosaur to open its mouth just a
little, so Holland shoots up in the air over the deck of the ship in
his fervor to get away from this killer dinosaur. He leaves a blood
trail across the ship as he goes.

Raken mutters a curse and draws his weapon.

Struggling to keep his footing on the creature's hide in the river
water, Ives sends his blade out in a two handed blow. The blow lands
solidly and Ives can feel the beast shudder beneath him. It tries to
whip its head about but cannot reach him with its razor sharp teeth.

Sekeht continues to concentrate on the attacking dinosaur. Ives can
feel its flesh beneath him cool noticeably.

Suddenly a second dinosaur's head whips from the water and lunges for
Raken. The star druid had drawn his scimitar, and he uses it at the
last second to parry away the massive jaws, barely stepping aside as
they snap close inches from his face.

Ferric switches to the newfound target and plies his bow firing twice
into the neck of the new threat.

Meanwhile, below decks...

Allagan stabs out at Masawa, trying to keep him at spear's length.
With Masawa's back turned to him, the blow his relatively easy to
land, leaving a deep cut in Masawa's back.

Startled by his massive sword bouncing off human flesh, Nilaroo uses
his blade to try and parry Masawa's attacks.

Grigree throws a javelin at Masawa, it strike him but bounces off as
did Nilaroo's sword.

Freneth shouts, "He's using magic!" While he does this, Freneth
charges the back of the Masawa's legs. Both tumble to the deck, but
Freneth, who had planned the collision, rolls past and heads for
Talus.

Kain jabs his sword towards the witch doctors midriff, this time it
sinks in deeply and the witch doctor collapses to the deck in pain as
his life spills from the wound.

Vais moves into the room towards Masawa.

Above decks...

Holland points a finger at the dino attacking Raken and quickly
chants, sending three black missiles of energy impacting into the
creature.

As Raken battles against this new threat, he shouts out "Sorry, my
scaled friend, but druids are bad for your health!" Raken slashes the
beast's
head with his sabre.

Dhebun's eyes narrow as he sees the dinosaur attack Raken. Springing
into action, he slashes savagely with his short sword as he lunges at
the giant lizard. His blade hacks into its neck.

Ferric sends two more arrows into the body of the beast attacking Raken.

Sekeht starts to sweat as he continues to concentrate on the first
dinosaur, his arm reaching out toward it. The creature begins to
stiffen beneath Ives.

Struggling to keep on his feet Ives stabs downward into the monsters
neck with steel blade, severing the eerily cold flesh.

Meanwhile, below decks...

Allagan stabs at Masawa with his long spear, grazing his back.

Steepping away from his prone foe, Kain moves slightly towards the
group battling Masawa, but he does not join the fray, hanging back
from the action.

Nilaroo casts his sword away and leaps to grapple with Masawa. As
Masawastruggles to get back up, Nilaroo forces him back down and
wraps his legs around Masawa's torso from behind, securing a firm
hold.

Masawa screams in rage.

Grigree runs up to the body of the nearest witch doctor and grabs up
his spear, then takes a defensive stance.

Vais moves along the wall until he reaches Talus and then kneels
beside the fallen half-elf.

Above decks...

Holland flies down through the open hatch into the cargo hold.

Cursing angrily, the dwarf continues a furious assault against the
dinosaur, his blade flashing as he stabs at the beast. "You shall
have neither my friends, nor I for your supper monster!" He stabs
his short sword into the beast's neck, which flops to the deck before
sliding off into the water, spurting great fountains of blood from
the wound.

Raken shouts "I'm checking Holland!" and takes off after the flying
wizard, down the nearest hatch.

Ferric calls, "Dammit! We need to get the gear aboard before we can take off!"

Sekeht looks around the deck and sees no more foes, and the only
wounded friend, Holland, has just zoomed into the cargo hold.

As his Jurassic foe sinks beneath him, Ives lands in the water with a
tremendous splash. Bobbing up Ives dog paddles furiously to the raft
and grabs on.

Meanwhile, below decks...

Seeing Nilaroo has Masawa, Allagan moves around the wrestling bodies
carefully to Talus and Vais.

Vais is performing first aid on Talus. "He'll live." he tells
Allagan. "I'm casting a Wound Bind on him which will stop the
bleeding and cleanse his wounds. But It will not provide the sort of
healing a priest, or potion, can provide."

Kain moves to the speaking tube and calls up to the deck above, "Is
everything ok up there? Can we leave soon?"

Ferric, standing by the tillers, calls back, "No, we don't have the
gear aboard yet. Do you have the helm?"

Kain calls back, "Aye!"

Grigree steps up and kicks Masawa's club from his hand.

Pinning Masawa face down, Nilaroo reaches around Masawa's neck, puts
a hairy forearm against his trachea, clasps hands together, and tries
to break his neck. Some force beyond flesh prevents Masawa's neck
from breaking, but his air is still cut off, and Nilaroo feels him go
limply unconscious beneath his grasp after a few minutes.

"You seem to have rescued us." Vais says dryly while tending to Talus.
