Subject: Re: Into the Void Guidelines
Hey guys,

I've put together some very basic guidelines. Nothing really all that
bad, just noting some of the stuff we're looking for, and noting that big
articles might get broken up, and some guidelines for images to be sent.
Its a rough draft; I'll refine and polish it in time. This is just to get
us started. Let's shoot for maybe 20-30 pages; that seems to be standard.
So basically...go wild and start writing!

Guidelines

Here are the fast-and-lose guidelines to submitting material to
the Spelljammer online magazine, Into the Void.

Masters of the Ship

The Seekers' Council will be heading up the project,
particularly Static and Night Druid. Send submissions to the Spelljammer
List, or if an author would like, to either of these two and we will gather
them up.

Types of Articles

Basically, we're looking for all manner of Spelljammer-related
articles. This includes, but not limited to, fiction, new monsters, NPCs,
ecologies, artwork, reviews of material that can be adapted into
Spelljammer, short adventures & adventure ideas, and any other general
article you can imagine.

We will have recurring articles, which may or may not appear in
every issue depending on the submissions we receive. Fans can make
submissions to these articles. The articles, as they stand right now (we
will add more as articles arrive), include the following:

Ask the Council - a general Question & Answer, not unlike Sage Advice from
Dragon, for Spelljammer.

Contraband - details websites and RPG books which can be adapted to
Spelljammer. Be sure to point out how the featured website(s) and book(s)
can be adapted, with any necessary conversions.

Corrections and Editing

We are in the process of putting together a team to handle
editing of submitted articles. It would be most helpful for any submitted
article to be spell-checked before they are submitted.

Size of Submissions

Submissions can be of any size. Do try to make submissions at
least 1 page in length. In the case of large submissions, such as those of
say 20 pages, we may break such submissions into two or more articles. Do
not let this discourage you from writing long submissions, just be aware
that such submissions may result in multi-article issues and prepare
accordingly.

Submission Format

Plain text files, HTML, RTF, and word documents are best.

Art

Of course, we're always looking for new pieces of art!
Submitted illustrations are meant for PDFs--and therefore expected to be
printed. Please use very high res (at least 150 DPI) and save in a lossless
image format (such as PNG). If you have any questions, please let us know.
Whenever possible, avoid sending us JPG and GIF images; these formats, while
popular, lose resolution and creates a lower-quality image.
