Thanks for the compliment! I am very hesitant about stating that I'd
throw out Herospace altogether; even the silliest of things can be made
interesting in the right light and the right flavor text. For example, a
good five or six years ago (my god, has it been that long?!?!?!), I had an
idea that changed the goblin porcupine from an easily-dismissed ship to a
real interesting, low-level threat. My idea? Make it a gigantic
spineyball...one that the goblins could grow in huge hordes. Plus I gave
them a type of helm that was cheap to make and largely useless to PCs. The
end result was a pretty mean ship, when encountered in numbers, that play up
the goblins love of mob-tactics. :)
So thus, if Herospace could be put into the proper light, it could
potentially shine as a nifty addition to SJ lore :)
