Well, it's a new (secondary and concurrent) campaign so it's low level
characters just starting out. This all seemed too perfect as the legendary
family history for their Bard. The Melodya stuff in particular has given me
some fun ideas.

Now, if I remember correctly, someone commented that this was (in 3e terms)
an Epic Level setting?  Perhaps a transplanar trading gate from Union (the
multiplanar nexus that is the main setting presented in the Epic Level
Handbook) is at least partially responsible for the "find anything there,
the more exotic the better," sort of feel. If this sounds interesting I can
try to elaborate on it.....
