thx a lot! :o)
its good to hear that mirror gets actually used in play!
It´ll be several months before my players ´ll see or hear anything about
that
Sphere; enough time to flesh it out and explore it´s wonders.
My yet groundbased FR- campaign will soon take off the ground: I´ll start
with
“wildspace”, later some parts from “skulls and crossbones”, “realmspace”,
etc...
to get them accustomed to the new flavour/style, and scattered throught all
encounters, rumors & legends told in wildspace. More and more of these
stories
will center among Mirrorspace, where I plan to lure them when they are a
bit
more experienced, say around lvl 10-12… after that (and perhaps some more
adventures, depending on how long they´ll stay in mirrorspace and what they
do there), they ´ll meet their first vodoni ship. :o))) the campaign will
swing to
“Under the dark fist”, ending with a truly epic battle. That will need a
lot of
fleshing-out, but until then it´s probably a few years time.

The former. My original thought was that the “fake personality” served only
as a
highly Effective protection against the discovery of the overall plan. I
don´t really
see how a split personality coul aid the harvest… One could argue that one
mind
“does the work”, i.e. reflecting the emotions back over the dancefloor,
while the
other independently harvests the ecstasy, but I don´t know whether that
concept
is really convincing...
Please consider that the story is quite “epic” (in the sense of the 3e Epic
level
handbook) : when I write about wizards and psionics that investigate and
scrutinize
the Music Couple and the Illithids, they are supposed to be the best
specialists
Mirror´s money could buy. The Aboleth would have known this before – and
had come
up with a plan like the split personality. It would be sure to say that
almost every
attempt to block the mindreading would have been discovered, so a second
personality
was needed, one that held none of the secret details of the masterplan, no
knowledge of
the Mindflayers masters and different memories.

It took me some time until I came up with the idea, and even when writing I
wasn´t
completely convinced. Now, while writing and explaining the idea more
detailed, I find it
a tad better than at the first time… but if you have a better alternative
I´ll be happy to
rewrite the passage!

I was only a few times in clubs, so I have not much experience what I was
writing about.
I had planned to write later something short from the perspective of a
(surviving *g*)
Dancer, how it feelt to move in perfect harmony with the music, along the
way describing
the Deepdome and perhaps the Club- Town more detailed.
Perhaps you could do this? Seems like you´d be more capable than I! :o)
