IC:
Raken pipes up. "I can summon a small cyclone that can attack, charm
a native or two, and possibly take control of a dinosaur if one is
present. I can also create a blade of flame, to cause fire if so
necessary."
Talus adds in, "I can seal off the mouth of the fish cave with a wall
of force too. That should help."
Holland says, "Okay, here is the plan," and outlines the plan
incorporating everyone's suggestions and information.
When finished Holland asks, "Any other modifications?"
Leera shakes her head. "I still say we attack suddenly, and in force,
using misdirection to mask the size and direction of the attack. The
sooner we get all onto the ship the better we'll be. Spilitting the
group for longer than necessary will lead to problems."
She continues, "Between real fires and illusionary distractions like
fog banks, we should be able to gain enough surprise to get everyone
on the ship, seize the helm, and take off. Then we toss the rest
overboard and head off to find Pate....
Freneth nods his head in apparent agreement, "Simplicity is generally
best during the hunt."
Talus says, "I like Holland's plan. I say we go with that one."
Allagan agrees, "The plan is simple. We get into position and then
the raft comes downstream. We won't do anything unless the natives
raise the alarm. If
the raft can make it all the way to the ship before an alarm is
raised, then all the better."
Kain stutters, "I agree Holland's is the best plan we have. It is
good that the cave is to the east so the raft will not have to pass
it. Perhaps the Fish men have an underwater entrance.
Kain continues "I am worried about the raft being attacked by a large
river creature it would sink quickly. I hope Raken can befriend any
thing sent to destroy the raft."
Stumbling over the words more as his speech continues Kain asks,
"Will Leera wield the cutlas, or would the darkness be better
employed elsewhere."
Allagan says, "Maybe the cutlass should be kept out of this for now."
"Even should Master Raken befriend some creature within any place,
could not the fish overpower that creatures mind, leaving that
friendship of little value to us?" inputs Freneth.
Allagan asks Raken, "Can you call some water creature to us? It
could help pull/push the raft to make it go faster."
Talus says, "We should start soon, guards are usually more alert the
closer it gets to sunrise."
Holland says, "Let's get to it. Talus please cast your invisibility
spell on Kain. Leera, please cast yours on Allagan."
Allagan says, "Just a minute, let me cast a spell first." Allagan
begins a long chant, once complete he smiles, "Now I can call down my
Father's lightning." Turning to Leera he says, "I am ready now."
Leera turns Allagan invisible.
Kain quickly moves towards Allagan and hesitantly asks, "Let me get
this straight, we wait at the front of the ship, until the guards
fall asleep, or fireworks start going off, then we rush to the
bridge, right?"
Allagan replies, "You have everything right except wait at the back
of the ship on the mast. You might as well sit on the mast next to
me until we have to
move. Hopefully the raft can make it the whole way but we need to be
prepared to move quickly if the natives raise the alarm."
Allagan asks, "Who had the falling ring? Can I borrow it please?"
Freneth nods, and quickly unties the leather cord he uses to carry
his battle trophies. He slips the feather ring from it, and hands it
to Allagan. "May your gods blessings be on this venture. Good luck."
Allagan slips the ring on his finger, "Thank you."
Kain then quickly checks his equipment, and looking towards Talus he
stutters, "Ok, I guess I'm as ready as I'm going to be."
Talus casts his invisibility spell on Kain.
Allagan holds his arms out for Kain and Talus to grab a hold of and
lift him off, "I'm ready."
Kain's voice is heard to stutter, "Wait just a moment." and then a
few seconds later, "Ok, I can't see my wings, but they're there."
Talus feels around until he finds Allagan's invisible arm and asks,
"Kain, you have his other arm? Then let's go"
Allagan feels a couple of bumps on his other arm, as Kain feels
around blindly, before taking up a firm grip. "Ok, I've got it"
mutters Kain.
Talus turns invisible and then lifts off into the air, with Talus and
Kain carrying Allagan between the two of them.
Once the spells are cast and the three have taken off Holland says,
"I'll cast my spells now; once I leave give me a few minutes and then
start paddling towards the boat."
Holland bends his ring finger and wings grow out of his back, Holland
then bends his index finger and turns invisible, "See you all soon".
Raft Group:
Nilaroo spends the last minutes before the attack securing his small
grapple to the last length of rope not used in creating the raft.
After Holland departs, at the count of 100 Nilaroo looks around and
readies his oar. "Hoom, let us go."
Sekeht dips his makeshift oar into the water and pushes it forward.
"We should still have surprise with us," he says quietly. "We'll get
our ship back."
Freneth, obviously much to small to be of much use as an oarsman,
shifts his attention to the waters and the shoreline, as he almost
absently tied off his harpoons.
Double checking his starwheel pistols and the shot loaded in them,
Ives pokes at the small rust mark on the outside of the barrel.
Shaking his head, Ives reholsters them and starts to row at Nilaroo's
signal.
The others with oars bend to the task as well, as the raft drifts
downstream towards the village and their ship...
----------------
Flying Group:
Everything at the village appears as talus described it, the flyers
move silently through the hot, humid night air.
Once they get over the aft mast Talus hovers in place and then lets
go of Allagan's arm.
Released of his burden Talus flies into position between the stone
cave and the ship and hovers.
Kain, after also releasing Allagan's arm, lands on the aft of the
ship, well away from the two aft guards.
Allagan sits on the crossbeam as he watches the guards and watches
for the arrival of the group's raft.
Holland flies into position and waits for the raft's approach.
After a few moments the raft appears around the bend...
