Fair enough. Traders, with a side of conquest & pirating to help keep
them on top :)

Heh, with all the nobles scheming and dealing, no wonder the city
fell...;)

Works for me :)

I figure humans, but a big melting pot, with sizable communities of
elves, dwarves, gnomes, and a dozen other races. The city itself i figured
to be pretty huge (250k at its height), plus the rest of the cluster was
settled farm/pasture/groves.

Good question: A couple of years ago, I was working on an idea of
something that detailed where the octopus & cuttle command ships came from.
I created a city (not detailed beyond a name) called Mirror as the source,
although I never got around to fleshing it out. Where the name came
from...<shrug> I actually don't remember. Maybe lots of buildings with
reflective surfaces or something :)

Probably neutral to poor...afterall, they had dealings with mind flayers
:) I could even see the Fleet using Mirror to tie up major orc & ogre
fleets while they fought other fleet elsewhere. Of course, they'd "help"
Mirror fight off all the invaders, but keep the balance of power such that
neither side could really win.

Yes; certainly interesting all the ideas being bounced around.
