Wow, some really nifty ideas are starting to flow! :D

That'd be a safe bet; I sorta envisioned a "Spainish Empire" of
wildspace. Spain was a pretty potent military empire of its day, and
plundered a continent or two to spend it all on parties and luxuries. So a
highly aggressive, militiaristic Mirror fits in with the idea :)
I like the idea of the gate in the hands of the city leaders; that lends
itself well to them using it as a weapon against their foes, particularly
other kingdoms. Great for privateering work ;) The only point may be that
it should have been either shut down at the time of Mirror's siege, or
better yet, simply inaccessible (perhaps one of the navies took over the
moon/asteroid where it was located, but didn't know what the heck they were
sitting on). Otherwise the siege becomes a bit more of a headache. But
otherwise, the idea is pretty nifty ;)
Does raise an issue: I sorta figured Mirror to be a "plug & chug"
asteroid cluster, but maybe it *should* be a sphere? A sphere-wide empire
that conquered, raided, and traded in other spheres as well? Interesting...
Anyways, no idea for a city/national/sphere symbol. Any suggestions?
