Do you actually want to go ahead and do it?  If you want to get out of it,
Bral is rather famous for not caring what happens off the Rock itself; a Bralian
court might well simply toss it.  I'd start with this position, actually,
until the noble comes up with a suitable reimbursment for the court's time.  I'd
call it an opportunity to play up just how corrupt Bralian government is.
Sooner or later, the noble can probably buy the conviction of the magesmith.
Whether or not he can buy the conviction of the bodyguard...?  Depends on how
much the Dragonlady wants her pawn.
As to firing, I'd suppose that's up to the rest of the party, actually.  Most
parties work on an equal-shareholder basis.
