Hey, Loki? My players, who run Epic Level characters, recently made the jump into space. I've found that applying the rules from the Epic Level Handbook is easy. Remember, lots of important aspects of Spelljammer aren't especially edition-specific.... and for things that are, a DM is not exactly left hanging. A great deal of conversion work lies on Beyond the Moons, already done, and ready to boost the DM's own conversion efforts. The Epic Level Handbook seems to be compatible; I've encountered few brainteasers. Now, if I can just figure out why my players took that z+90° turn into the SJ setting in the first place.... they won't say. It irked me a little, because - as I warned them - the move to SJ made all campaign material I'd already developed useless, all at once. I canceled the next gaming session for new campaign development time, but my players took that in stride and have been having a great time since then. I explained to them that their move of jumping into space required me to create an entirely new campaign outline, and the first adventures for it, requiring extra development time. I was surprised by their very temperate reaction to that statement. Normally, canceling a session will automatically provoke a "Bash Jim Night." My SJ novel, "The Bri'kerzz Sweep," posted on Beyond the Moons, features Epic Level lead characters.
