Those pesky Arcane

This sort of goes along with the talk about the origins of helms that's
been going on.

I've been running a campaign for the past six months where the Arcane have
basically taken over. They started to control inter-sphere trade so much
that everyone basically grew dependant on the Arcane. The quality of life
in the known spheres has been dropping over the past twenty years, and
a rebel group has been forming against the Arcane.

The groups 'leader' type is from the rebel group, but each character has
something secret about their past. the campaign includes a lot of
alliance/secret maneuvering.

A few of the party's members are from a parallel version of the prime
material, brought here by a high-level celestial who would like them to
thwart the Arcane in some manner, and act as information gatherers.

There is of course a more sinister plot afoot which I have not yet
revealed to my players, muhahahaha. Things are also complicated by the
fact that the gods have left for some mysterious reason.

So far they have adventured in Toril-space. They will soon move on to
Krynnspace, and then eventually make way to Athas. I like the Crimsonspace
ideas so might incorporate them. :)
