Anyone who draws campaign ideas from reading works of fiction? Or more generally, anyone who enjoys stories set in the Spelljammer universe? Just because a story takes place in a backwater sphere doesn't mean it's not worth telling, or reading. Who knows, something that happens in a backwater area may eventually have far-reaching consequences further down the line in the not-so-backwater regions of the multiverse. If you drop a pebble into a remote corner of a pond, the ripples will still travel to every corner of the pond. Sometimes the ripples become large waves, while other times they diminish to almost nothing, but you can never be sure. The ripple effect is funny that way. Case in point: I remember a story about a halfling finding a magical ring in some nameless cave in the middle of a minor mountain chain. It wasn't very important at the time, but it eventually started a chain of events that had far-reaching effects on most every aspect of the world in question. Who knows what ripples Jim's story may create. I haven't read it myself, but I hope to in time. Hopefully others will, too. -- Richard J. Pugh: the Cyberbard http://rjpugh.home.comcast.net/
