If you drop a quarter from the Empire State Building it is going to stop accelerating at a certain speed and so it won't do much damage, but that is because the force of gravity only imparts so much energy into the coin's velocity. It reaches a terminal velocity once it's gained as much energy from gravity as it can. But shoot that coin from a gun (pretend the barrel and chamber are shaped correctly for a coin) and you're putting a lot more energy into it's velocity than you are when you drop it from a building. At a certain point it's going to hit a peak velicity again, but this peak velocity is much higher than the one it gets from gravity. You can accelerate a marshmallow to a high enough speed that it will cause damage, if it stays together as it flies through the air. Dropping it from a building won't have that effect, but shooting it with a lot of energy will. And with green slimes, I'd imagine it is the impact that kills them, not a transformation into another type of substance. (I have to admit, I'm not sure what type of accelerator you're talking about, my attention's divided right now) - Coyote, the Desert Dog _________________________________________________________________ Get reliable dial-up Internet access now with our limited-time introductory offer. http://join.msn.com/?page=dept/dialup
