Trebuchet and catapults are not nearly as accurate as ballista. it takes
several shots to hit a huge target like a city or wall, I don't think
it's practical to try to hit a moving ship. Especially ships as fast as
SpellJammers.

See Master & Commander (or even better read some of the books.) for how
difficult it is to hit moving targets.

I would thing that to lay siege to a city, like the Rock of Bral, it
would be easier to simply fly towards it and push rocks into it. Inertia
moves the rock until it enters the other gravity plane, then it starts
raining 200 lb rocks.

I remember a SciFi story somewhere (Fred Saberhagen's Berserker series
maybe?) where the bad guys put large planetoids on collision courses
with earth. It would take years for them to come around, but it made for
an interesting story.
