I was of the understanding, though I could most certaintly (and most
likely) be wrong, that heavy catapults were trebuchets. However I also
disagree with this because trebuchets and catapults are fundamentally
different kinds of machines. A catapult works of the tension in wound
rope, hair, etc. where as a trebuchet launches its payload with a
massive counterwait.

I thnk it could probably be used by capital ships and such that didn't
have to much rigging overhead, but thats my thought. IIRC the
historical trebuchet outraged the early bombards so I would give it at
the very least more hexes than those but I'm not totally sure.

Hello All!

Happy New Year!

Wow! This place got really quiet lately. I hope we
fill this place with lots and lots of messages. =)

Well here are some of the things I was thinking
about during the holidays. =)

I have been thinking about trebuchet for a while now
and seeing a tv show about it made me think about
using one in my campaign. Using 8 to 10 people to man
this siege weapon that is capable of hurling 250 to
300 pounds stone ball. What do you think?
Fortification weapon or a usuable ships weapon for
capital ships type? How many hexes do you think it can
cover? [http://www.trebuchet.com]
