>What happens when a sphere of annihilation runs up >against a crystal sphere? (i.e. something that >destroys anything is brought to use against the >indestructable) The SoA takes out a chunk of the crystal sphere, causing a disruption in the stability of that crystal sphere. This disruption rapidly breaks down the sphere's cohesiveness and causes it to explode, sending fragments across the general area of the phlogiston. Any particle that hits another crystal sphere starts the same disruption in the new sphere. A chain reaction on a massive scale spreads across known space and destroys the universe as we know it! All kidding aside . . . IMC, the SoA would stop just short of the crystal sphere wall and not inflict any damage. >Glue probably can't to a crystal sphere, right? A >suction cup would I'm guessing and so would >sovereign glue I would think but what are other >peoples thoughts on that? Neither glue, suction cups nor sovereign glue would stick, IMHO. >What happens if you stretch a portable hole across a >portal to the phlogiston? (i.e half is in the flow >and half isn't. Can you only access half the >extradimensional space? You can access the entire space allowed by the portable hole, but only through the portion inside the crystal sphere. >How thick is a crystal sphere anyways? Does it vary >from sphere to sphere? Although it is never really defined, I use a 1-foot thickness. IMC, each one is the same, with a few exceptions (i.e.: Herdspace). >When a portal through a crystal sphere closes does >it cut through things or does it just expel the >matter to one side? What would happen if you tried >to hold open a portal with a wall of force? Treat it like an extraplanar gate. >Can someone with the Use Magic Device skill from 3rd >edition emulate a Thri Kreen and use a crystal >throne? I'd say yes, but it seems a might too good. I have to agree with Static on this one. You could activate it, but you need to continually provide the appropriate energy to keep it running.
