ANswers contained here reflect my onw personal multivese and cummulative Dm
decisions from 5 past SJ campaigns. Mileage may vary...

No effect other than the sphere ceasing motion. It will not move through the
space that the shell occupies. Period. No known force (including the power
of a deity) can affect or effect a crystal shell. I believe that that is
stated in teh Concordance of Arcane Space in the original boxed set.

No. see rationale for previous question

Interdimensional magic does not work in the Flow. My ruling on this, because
it actually occured once in a previous game, was an effect similar to a
retributive strike from first edition. If you don't recall Ret Strikes, they
occurred when a staff was shattered and created a large and deadly explosion
in the form of a dimensional crossrip. When it happened the final result was
the survivors found themselves in Gamma World low on hit points and all
thier magic operating at reduced levels.

Thickness varies from sphere to sphere as does size of the sphere itself.

Lorebook of the Void included rules and comments on whether or not your
ship/item etc is forced in or out, or is cut into chunnks by the closing
portal. Woe betide those who find themselves floating free without a helm in
half a ship...

No, they could use it, but could not provide it with the power to operate.
Just as they could use it to operate a helm, but the helm, having no spell
levels to draw on would remain inert. Think of it like a flashlight with
dead batteries. You can point it and operate the switch, but there is no
current for the bulb....
