This one clicks. Good description. Thank you! Far back in the history of my main crystal sphere, several races that used technology rather than magic came to the crystal sphere and colonized it. Their histories helped shape the histories of the planets in this sphere. But I've been throwing around a way to describe how they came from one universe or galaxy to my spelljamming galaxy. A controlled way to manipulate transitions through this vibratory barrier would work. It is a way to make physics and magic work. Not important to some, but it is to me. They came from places like the Milky Way Galaxy and the Andromeda Galaxy to the Shining Wyrm Galaxy, which is made up of pholgiston and traditional spelljammer-style crystal spheres, by purposely altering the vibratatory rates their fleets of ships existed at. I'll say they could 'scan' other vibratory states and determine which ones may potentially be habitable, enabling them to pick and choose some states for exploration. They had to leave thier old state and come to this state because of a disaster in the case of the first race and conquest in the case of the second. They brought all their technology and non-magical devices with them when they came across, and they understood enough about how the laws of physics changed when they came that they could make these devices continue to work. They were like the race that made the monolith in 2001, the one the main character visits in the end. And they came to my campaign setting, thus, setting the stage for massive wars between magic weilding races such as dragons and elves and these technology using races. You have one side using nukes against the other, and the other side using the elves' secret version of the withchlight marauder, Slyvanus' Wrath, and massive dragons bigger than mountains with breath weapons that are stronger than nuclear weapons. It was all very cool and devastating. Anyway, thanks. Your description worked, it's the one I'm going to use. Thank you very much. - Coyote, the Desert Dog _________________________________________________________________ >From the hottest toys to tips on keeping fit this winter, youll find a range of helpful holiday info here. http://special.msn.com/network/happyholidays.armx
