I sent this to Paul already, but since you asked, I'll
pass it on to the whole list.

Would the rumor of a planet that was 'hungry' be of
interest? Formerly the site of the 'Tlewen Empire', it
is now closer to a slow vampiric draining of life
energy of any who pass nearby. I have its location as
a few spheres past Realmspace toward the Elven
Territories using Patrick Stutzman's Map of the known
spheres (just off the map). It is the second planet
out from the central primary (Size D Earth Spherical-
3500 miles across). Ships which draw close to it find
the weakest members feeling sluggish, then sleeping
longer, and not rising rested. The rate of drain is
actually 1 hp per 2 days within one radius of the
planet and it occurs to all the living crew and
animals, but those who are injured or lower level will
succumb first. If the ship moves out away from the
planet, these points will be healed normally at 1 hp
per 8 hours of rest. The Cities of the Tlewen Empire
are still mostly intact. Large cities have
gladiatorial arenas in the center. The population
appears to have mostly died in their beds, and except
for any city which has been looted previously, will
have wealth in gold, silver, platinum and a large
number of large gems and artworks including be-gemmed
statues. The effect of the drain increases in the
vicinity of the arenas, and can be considered 1 hp per
1 day. Within the arenas, the drain is 1d4 per day.
Necromantic Magic is present but of such a large and
unfamiliar magnitude as to be confusing. There are no
roaming undead. Plants are unaffected although there
does not seem to be intelligent plant life here.
Another note, there is a strange effect around the
arenas which blocks a priest's contact with their
Deity. Only 1st and 2nd level spells can be cast and
no spell recovery is possible for clerics. The spell
'Contact Home Power' will not operate within one
radius of the surface of the entire planet . The
entire crystal sphere only has 5 planets. There are
Elven Navy Bases in this sphere, and none of them will
go near the planet (I give you permission to name it
an Elven name meaning Hungry the original name is lost
in History. The Tlewen Empire appears to have died
within a 4 month span approximately 3000 years ago.
The 4 month span is the time between EIN visits to the
Capital City Tlewas.)
